Help us fight the battle with Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)

All patients deserve their physician’s time, attention and respect. All patients deserve the best. The goal of the Virginia Lounsbury Foundation for POTS Research and the University of Toledo Medical Center is to assist Dr. Grubb in his P.O.T.S. research.

These words are the guiding principles of Dr. Blair Grubb, Professor of Medicine and Director of Electrophysiology at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Dr. Grubb is a world-renowned cardiologist whose expertise in syncope (unexplained and unpredictable fainting), leads people from across the United States and around the world to Toledo, Ohio seeking compassionate and leading edge treatment.

Dr. Grubb has been on the faculty of the University of Toledo for over 25 years. He takes the time to understand the unique circumstances of every patient that he sees. He approaches his patients as individual human beings, not as a case or a disease. This dedication to his patients combined with his commitment to research has created new approaches to the treatment of syncope earning Dr. Grubb the nationally significant Patients’ Choice Award year after year.

Dr. Grubb’s numerous contributions have made The University of Toledo a world leader in the management of patients with syncope and arrhythmia. The nature of syncope is such that is takes an especially dedicated physician to provide the very best care that each patient deserves. That is why we are embarking on a fund drive to establish The Virginia Lounsbury Foundation for POTS Research to help Dr. Grubb and the University of Toledo Medical Center raise 2 Million Dollars to help further his research. The legacy of achievement and caring that is the hallmark of Dr. Grubb’s work must be carried on.

The Virginia Lounsbury Foundation for POTS Research will provide a steady and perpetual stream of funding to promote innovative research into the causes and cures for syncope. It will provide the resources needed to develop new faculty who will continue to care for and manage patients with these difficult medical conditions under the guidance and influence of a true world leader.
